The short version. Selah is a gentle pause before the apps that pull at you, built around scripture and reflection. It is a prompt, not a lock. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you cancel through your app store.
By downloading or using Selah you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Selah interrupts your reach for a chosen app with a short pause — a verse, a prompt, a moment of prayer — and then lets you decide whether to continue.
It is deliberately not a hard block. On iPhone the pause is triggered by a Shortcuts automation you set up yourself, and it can be dismissed, bypassed or removed. On Android it depends on a permission you grant and can revoke. Selah is designed to create a moment of choice, not to make an app impossible to open. Please do not rely on it as an enforcement tool, a parental control, or a safeguard for anyone whose access genuinely must be restricted.
Selah is not medical, psychological, or professional advice, and is not treatment for compulsive use, addiction, anxiety or depression. If you are struggling, please speak to a qualified professional. Nothing in the app or in the research it cites is a promise about your own results.
Selah offers scripture and prompts for reflection. It is not pastoral counsel and is no substitute for your own church, community, or spiritual guidance.
What you write in Selah for yourself is yours. It stays on your device, and we neither claim rights over it nor have any way to read it. Because it lives on your phone, keeping it safe is up to you — deleting the app deletes it. Selah offers an optional backup to your own iCloud Drive or a folder you pick; we recommend using it.
Selah has a feedback board where you can ask for a feature. Requests must not be unlawful or abusive, and must not contain anyone else's personal information. We may edit, decline or remove any request, and we may stop accepting requests from a device that sends them abusively. What appears on the board is written by us, and nothing there is a promise that a feature will be built — a status shown on the board may change.
Scripture is quoted from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. Prompts, prayers and other written material in the app are ours, and are provided for your personal use. Please do not redistribute them as your own.
Please do not attempt to break, reverse engineer, or circumvent the paid parts of the app, or use Selah in a way that breaks the law.
Selah is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that a pause will always appear at the right moment — it depends on your device, its operating system, permissions you control, and services we do not run. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.
These terms may change; the date above will change with them. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Prices may change too, and where a change affects an existing subscription your app store will ask you before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law rules.
